Kenyans Attack Uhuru After Flying Out Amidst Drought

President Uhuru Kenyatta has received backlash after travelling to Namibia on Thursday, amidst drought ravaging more than 10 counties.

The president was accompanied by Cabinet Secretaries Mwangi Kiunjuri (Agriculture), James Macharia (Transport), Peter Munya (Trade), MP Amos Kimunya, his nephew and personal secretary Jomo Gecaga and his daughter Ngina Kenyatta.

The country was celebrating 29 years of independence at Independence Stadium, Windhoek.

Immediately the photos were posted by State House, netizens started complaining.

Some even singled out the Agriculture CS, noting that as the person in charge of Kenya's food security, he should have stayed in the country.

"Instead of Mwangi Kiunjuri staying and working on how farmers will get subsidised fertiliser mnafuatana (you join Uhuru)?" Muriithi Njue wondered.

"Then next you will be shouting at him on ASK shows on how lazy and corrupt he is? Surely, your government has failed totally!" he added.

Stephen Munyao noted that Namibia was celebrating 29 years of independence while Kenya had enjoyed self-rule for over 50 years yet we hadn't eradicated hunger.

He regretted that politicians were taking advantage of the situation to glorify themselves.

"We know when things are hot in Kenya you must become a tourist," commented Humphrey Billy.
