DCI Nabs Mombasa City Tycoon With 1Kg of Heroin Worth Ksh1.5M in Car [PHOTOS]

A Mombasa businessman, Abdulmajid Mselem Timami was on Friday arrested after Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) detectives found 1kg of heroin worth at least Sh1.5 Million in his car.



According to Mombasa DCI boss Washington Njiru, Timami had concealed the drugs in his new model Honda wrapped in a polythene bag. 



"The drug was wrapped in a polythene bag as he was preparing to make a delivery to his chain of distributors," the police report read.



Reports by The Nation indicated that the suspect was detained at the Central Police Station awaiting arraignment on Monday.

Timami owns a fleet of long haul trucks that operate within East Africa.



Elsewhere on Thursday, Police officers unearthed 5kgs of bhang that was hidden in tyres of a moving car in Marsabit.



The bhang valued at Ksh 200,000 was cleverly hidden in the rear tyres of the Toyota Alphard.



Two people associated with the vehicle, Daniel Njuguna (driver), Boniface Muthee (owner) were arrested in connection with the incident.



The police revealed that they flagged down the vehicle for traffic check when they smelt bhang but could not tell exactly where it was emanating from.



The police discovered the illegal drug in the car's rear wheels and took the car to the police station for further investigations.
