Pastor James Ng'ang'a Dealt Blow as Court Approves His Prosecution

Prosecution in Pastor James Ng'ang'a's Ksh3.6 million case is free to proceed after High Court ruled in their favour.

Ng'ang'a had moved to court on Monday to block his prosecution on grounds that the the move was driven by personal motive and that businessman Wickson Njoroge Mwathi was being used to settle personal scores.

In his ruling on Tuesday, Justice James Makau revealed that Ng'ang'a failed to demonstrate how his fundamental rights have been violated.

The respondents in the pastor Ng'ang'a suit included the businessman, the Inspector General of Police (IG) and the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).

The judge further directed the embattled pastor to take plea in the Ksh3.6 million suit and that if he had any issues, he should raise them in the trial court.

Ng'ang'a was sued over claims that he had forfeited in paying rent for seven properties located in Karen Nairobi amounting to Ksh3.6 million.

He pleaded not gulity and was released on a Ksh 500,000 cash bail.

The matter is set for hearing on May 16 this year.

Last month, the well-known Nairobi pastor was arrested for issuing threats against media personality Linus Kaikai.

That was after the Citizen TV journalist came out to sensitize Kenyans against fake pastors and ministries that were taking advantage of them.

Kaikai warned that many of the pastors in the country were only working to make money and not to serve God.

Pastor Ng'ang'a then hit back noting, "I'm telling you like a Chief General Commander, you have to stop that. If you don't stop, I promise you will face the consequences."
