UK's DPP Max Hill Meets Noordin Haji in Heightened War Against Corruption

UK's Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Max Hill on Thursday met Kenya's DPP Noordin Haji.

In what is likely to be a game changer in the war against corruption, the two jointly held consultations with Chief Justice David Maraga.

"Corruption is theft from our people and we will work together to fight it," DPP Max Hill stated.

According to Hailey, the discussions focused on among other things where people are hiding money in the UK, and how the UK can help convict the corrupt in Kenya.

"Our DPP Max Hill is in Nairobi to discuss UK support to Kenya"s fight against Corruption," UK's High Commissioner to Kenya Nic Hailey tweeted.

"We will give every possible support," the High Commissioner Hailey added.

CJ Maraga noted that he had received Mr. Max Hill, QC, Director of Public Prosecutions, Crown Prosecution Service in the UK, on Thursday who had paid him a courtesy call.

"Mr. Hill was accompanied by the UK High Commissioner to Kenya, H.E Nic Hailey," Maraga added.

DPP Hill noted that he has been cooperating with ODPP Kenya to deal with economic crimes and counter-terrorism.

This likely includes the enjoining of Queen’s Counsel Khawar Qureshi in the prosecution of the corruption case facing Deputy Chief Justice Philomena Mwilu
