Murang'a Woman Hacks Husband to Death

A 47-year-old woman was on Saturday arrested in Gatanga, Murang'a County, after killing her husband in cold blood, Nation reports.

According to the publication, the suspect killed the man using a machete, a hammer, and an axe.

The woman reportedly dumped the tools inside a toilet and tried to set the deceased's body on fire.

She was nabbed while burying the corpse in an attempt to cover up for the heinous crime.

The deceased's brother, John Ndirangu, explained that he saw huge flames coming from his brother's home and went to investigate what was happening.

When he arrived at the home, he found the deceased's wife digging a hole. She told him that she was burning old rugs.

However, Ndirangu was not satisfied with her reply so he decided to stick around. Moments later, he saw her dragging a person who turned out to be his brother.

This incident comes barely three days after Ivy Wangechi, who died in a similar circumstance, was buried.

Naftali Kinuthia, the suspect in the murder, is currently being detained at Naiberi Police Station as investigations into the incident are conducted.

In a statement Eldoret East DCI chief Ali Kingi, Kinuthia explained that Wangechi was not reciprocating his love and kindness.

"The girl, according to the suspect, had told him that she was organising her birthday party, which would happen soon.

He said he sent her some money to arrange the event. Since then, the woman refused to pick his calls, said the suspect," Kingi told Citizen Digital in an interview.

In a separate incident, a Pwani University student was recently stabbed several times and left fighting for her life at Kilifi County Hospital.

Naomi Chepkemoi, a third-year student studying Public Health, reportedly broke up with the suspect months before the attack. She had also returned Ksh 3,200 that he had sent her.
