President Uhuru Kenyatta on Friday appointed John Ondigo Onsati as the Chairperson of the Kenya National Examinations Council, a post previously held by Education CS Prof George Magoha.
Through a gazette notice, the president appointed Ondigo to serve in the capacity for a period of three years commencing May 3rd.
"In exercise of the powers conferred by section 6 (1) (a) of the State Corporations Act and paragraph 5 (1) (a) of the Kenya National Examinations Council Act, 2012, I, Uhuru Kenyatta, President and Commander-in-Chief of the Kenya Defence Forces, appoint John Ondigo Onsati to be the Chairperson of the Kenya National Examinations Council, for a period of three (3) years," the notice read in part.
At the same time, Tourism CS Najib Balala re-appointed Baringo Senator Gideon Moi's wife Zahra Bahlewa Moi as a member of the Board of Tourism Research Institute.
Zahra's appointment comes days after she was proposed to take up a post as one of the directors at The Nairobi Hospital.
Among other individuals who were awarded plum parastatal jobs via the gazette notice dated May 3, 2019 included a handful of individuals who lost in the last General Election.
