Eric Kiraithe Replaced as Government Spokesperson

Eric Kiraithe has been replaced as the National Government Spokesperson. 

Former Linda Nchi Spokesperson Col (Rtd) Cyrus Odhiambo Oguna has been appointed to take over his place. 

As part of the government's strategy to revamp its communication, Oguna's office shall be domiciled at the Ministry of ICT. 

He shall have oversight of all channels of communication at the ministry.

Oguna will head the Directorate of Information and oversee all county and sub-county information officers, the Department of Public Communication and all officers seconded to various ministries and the Government Media Center. 

He will also oversight content at the two government news gathering and dissemination channels (Kenya News Agency and My Gov).

Before his appointment, Oguna served as the Joint National and Resource Mapping Project Spokesperson.

He had also been appointed as a Defense Advisor at Kenya's High Commission in Tanzania between 2014 and 2017.

The retired KDF officer holds a Master of Arts Degree in Political Science from the University of Nairobi and is currently pursuing a second Master's Degree in International Studies from the same institution.

During the course of his military career, Oguna was awarded several medals among them Moran of the Burning Spear (MBS).
