Uhuru's Whereabouts Amid Long Silence Since Return From China

President Uhuru Kenyatta has maintained a low profile since his return from China almost two weeks ago.

His absence from the media has sparked speculation about his whereabouts with some Kenyans questioning whether or not he is in the country.

Kenyans.co.ke went ahead and reached out to State House Spokesperson Kanze Dena who assured that the president was in his office working.

Kanze was, however, noncommital about how soon Kenyans can expect to get a word from the Head of State.

This dispells reports published on social media that President Kenyatta was drowning his sorrows at State Lodge Sagana.

The rumour was first tweeted by economist and former NASA strategist David Ndii

During Citizen TV's News Gang segment on Thursday night, news anchor Linus Kaikai stated that visibility of the president was a very key element of the presidency.

"People want to see what you are doing and this is actually global and not just a Kenyan phenomenon," he explained.

He reminded viewers of a time former President Daniel Moi had been absent from media after Kenyans had gotten used to news bulletins starting with information about his whereabouts.

The president walked out of his Harambee Avenue office without his rungu, hands in his pocket and spoke "Sasa nikipata kamasi kidogo mnasema mahututi (Now if I get a cold you report that I'm in critical condition)?"
