Embakasi East MP Babu Owino's wife, Fridah Ongili has for the first time opened up on how her husband's constant arrests affected her.
Speaking during an interview on K24TV's Upclose segment with anchor Betty Kyallo, Fridah stated that she got used to Babu's antics and found a way to deal with the constant arrests.
She explained that they met during their campus days where he was no stranger to controversy.
"From when I met Babu, he was a politician, so it didn't come as a surprise to me. I knew what I was getting myself into from day one.
"Even in his campus days, he used to get arrested a lot. It was difficult but I'm strong and I deal with it," she narrated.
On his part, the MP stated that following the period he was constantly arrested, he developed a habit of having a heavy meal before leaving the house.
"Due to the constant arrests, I decided that every time I leave the house, I have something heavy because I don't know where I will sleep," he conveyed.
Fridah further described the first-time legislator as a calm person and his personality was not as portrayed in the media.
"Babu is not as crazy as you think. He has a really good heart, he's a kind person and I see it every day. He's also very funny," she added.
She added that their marriage was not perfect and they put in an effort every day adding that Babu was capable of becoming president.
"He takes advice and that's why he is growing politically. He's more than capable of becoming the president of the country," she maintained.
