Echesa Demands Uhuru's Consultation Before Arrest

Former Sports CS Rashid Echesa has asked President Uhuru Kenyatta to consult him before he's arrested.

Speaking during an interview on Ebru TV, Echesa explained that he needs to be consulted due to his stature in the society.

"For a person of my stature to be arrested, there must be some consultation between the Office of the President and the Interior Ministry. I want to believe that there were consultations," he asserted.

He also stated that he can be reached easily if someone wants to ask him anything.

"I have worked in this government as a Cabinet Minister. The president has my mobile number, his office has my mobile number, my colleagues have my number.

"If they fell there's something that they want to know about me, they should have called me than subjecting me to this kind of humiliation without doing proper investigations," Echesa added.

The former ODM youth winger also described Uhuru as a father figure, a gentleman and a man who keeps his word.

Echesa was arrested on Friday, May 17, shortly after leaving a meeting with DP William Ruto.

The former CS was taken to Kakamega Central Police Station where he was questioned over the spate of murders in Matungu that left more than 10 people dead.

He was released on Sunday, May 19, after police failed to link him with the killings.
