Govt Official Awarded Ksh100K for Highest Huduma Namba Registration

Kithumbu Assistant Chief John Muriuki was on Wednesday awarded Ksh 100,000 by Jubilee Deputy Chairperson for Kirinyaga county, Mureithi Kang’ara, after his ward emerged to have had the highest Huduma Namba registrations.

The sub-location registered a total of 102,251 individuals during the exercise that came to a close about two weeks ago.

Speaking to Kenyans.co.ke, Kang’ara confirmed that he gifted the hardworking government official for the determination he displayed in rallying people to turn up for the registration.

“Muriuki worked seven days a week and never complained about working hours. He was going all over knocking on doors, going to churches and market places with the kit registering people,” praised Kang’ara.

He further explained that he was only honouring a promise he had made to the Chiefs, in regards to registration of residents, in their respective wards for huduma namba.

“When I was going around, I promised them that whoever will win the highest percentage of registration, I will award them Ksh100,000 as a token of appreciation,” explained the elated chairperson to Kenyans.co.ke

In the award ceremony that took place in Kagio, Kirinyaga county, Kang’ara described Muriuki as a hardworking individual who deserved recognition for his outstanding works.

He further requested the National government to review considerations of promoting the industrious Muriuki.

This came after the window of the mass registration that came to a halt on May 25 that saw more than 35 million Kenyans listed.

The ongoing process is cleaning the data to determine the validity of the data. Those who did not register will be forced to seek out their area assistant chiefs to who the process will be transferred.
