CS Narrates How Uhuru Discovered Sonko's Phobia [VIDEO]

Agriculture CS Mwangi Kiunjuri has revealed details about a day he and President Uhuru Kenyatta discovered Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko had a water phobia.

Speaking in Lamu County on Thursday, Kiunjuri narrated a story of when they got late touring some parts of the county and had to use a boat to travel back to the mainland.

"Sonko refused to enter the boat claiming he was heavily dressed in jewelry and we pretended to believe him.

"Uhuru winked at me secretly signaling that I should throw Sonko inside the vessel. I shoved Sonko inside and the president and I followed. We sailed back while Sonko protested all the way," the CS recalled.

During his recent visit to the coastal county, Kiunjuri distributed seedling to residents, urging them to diversify their farming by experimenting with cashewnuts.

He also announced that the government had already started building water pans for the residents.

Kiunjuri also disclosed that another two dams, Mkunumbi and Koreni, would be constructed in two months time.

The CS assured that work on the two dams is set to begin in July and that the two are expected to hold up to 100,000 cubic metres of water which can be used to irrigate over 100 acres of land.

The CS had been accompanied by Lamu Women Rep Ruweida Obbo and area MP Stanely Muthama.

Farming in Lamu County has been marred by cases of drought insecurity and encroachment by land grabbers.
