Kanze Dena Sends Warning After State House Intruder Was Shot

State House Spokesperson, Kanze Dena Mararo has issued a warning after an intruder, Brian Kibet Bera, who was armed with a knife tried to trespass into State House on Monday at 4pm.

In a statement sent to newsrooms, Kanze reminded the public that State House was a protected area and not open to the public.

"We take this opportunity to remind the public that State House is a designated protected area under the Protected Areas Act.

"For that reason, no person is allowed access to the premise without the permission of the prescribed authority," she noted.

An armed university student was shot and injured by police officers after he reportedly jumped over State House fence.

Witnesses revealed that the suspect was carrying a knife when he was caught by the authorities.

This is not the first time an intruder has invaded state house.

Two years ago, an intruder was shot dead after trying to access State House unlawfully.

In yet another incident in October 2015, Khadhik Juma was also arrested and charged after he tried to gain access into State House through an opening in the fence.

He told the officers that he had gained access to State House in search of a place to sleep.
