Man Hits Out at Uhuru's Team for Stealing His 20-Year Research

A researcher has emerged claiming that President Uhuru Kenyatta's team stole the intellectual property that he had worked on for more than 20 years for one of his projects.

The man, identified as David Bor, filed a petition seeking the court to halt further rollout of the National Housing Development Fund since its idea is strikingly similar to his own research.

He is seeking to be compensated for his efforts.

Through his lawyer Nicholas Ngumbi, Bor argued that he had been working on the project since 1998 and had its concept, which he called 'MUCCLES Concept Formula', registered in March 2007.

His research centered around the concept of mortgage finance aimed at creating better and affordable urban settlements.

The court documents further showed that Bor came up with a Multi-Concept Cluster Lending System (MUCCLE Concept formula) contained in the research that amalgamates several conventional business ideas into a single concept.

His idea, which he allegedly shared with some government officials, sought to increase the access of home loans to middle and low-income earners.

“The regulations promulgated are strikingly similar to intellectual copyright already existing in his formula and which has been registered as a copyright in Kenya,” argued Bor's lawyer.

The state adopted the National Housing Development Fund in 2018 after the Finance Bill was passed and is part of President Uhuru Kenyatta's Big 4 Agenda.

The government intends to deduct a Ksh1.5 percent levy from people's salary and the houses, once completed, will be randomly allocated to lucky applicants.
