President Uhuru Kenyatta is expected to visit Uasin Gishu County, where his Deputy William Ruto comes, from even as the rift in Jubilee Party continues to manifest in public after his angry outburst on Sunday.
The Head of State will preside over the relaunch of Rivatex, a textile factory that collapsed after two decades of neglect.
Nation reported that DP Ruto is expected to accompany his boss but there is a conflict about the list of politicians who will be allowed to speak at the event.
"President Kenyatta’s handlers were uncomfortable with Mr Sudi (Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi) speaking at the event and preferred the speeches be limited to the Uasin Gishu senator, governor and Mr Ruto before President Kenyatta makes his speech," reported Nation.
Sudi is the legislator representing the constituency where the textile company is located. His sentiments are often regarded as controversial.
A team from State House is already on the ground making preparations regarding the visit.
Nation established that President Kenyatta has not been to Eldoret town since the 2017 elections.
He attended a Kenya Defence Forces passing-out ceremony at Moi Barracks in November 2018 but did not step foot in Eldoret, which was a favourite stopover during the 2017 campaigns.
It was while in Eldoret that Uhuru declared that he would serve 10 years as president and hand over to Ruto.
The source of the growing rift within the ruling party was amplified by the handshake between President Kenyatta and former Prime Minister Raila Odinga whom many Jubilee legislators have accused of trying to bring down the party.
