MP Narrates Excruciating Surgery Without Anaesthesia [VIDEO]

Dagoretti South MP John Kiarie (KJ) has come out to narrate how he braved through a surgical operation without being put on anaesthesia.

He had been involved in an accident while riding a bicycle during his young age. The incident had left his humerus shattered and went through an operation to install metal rods in his arm to faciitate the healing process.

When it was time to remove the rods, he took himself to Kenyatta National Hospital and checked into the operating room.

Right before the doctor administered the pain reliever which would put him to sleep, he raised concern that KJ, being a minor, did not have consent from his parents to receive the anesthesia.

Therefore, the surgeon gave the young boy two options; to book another day which would take weeks or forgo the anesthesia.

KJ chose the latter and the medic encouraged him noting, "If you can stand the fracture that you had, then you can stand any pain in the world."

"I decided to go dry fry," KJ narrated to the audience that was keenly listening.

"Guys let me tell you, there is no way of explaining it. Any moment they (medics) touched any of those rods, I felt it up my arm through the humerus, on to my shoulders, into my entire body soul and spirit. I could feel it, pain untold," he recalled.

After the doctor had successfully pulled out two metal rods, KJ reminded him that he had missed one more.

"Who is the doctor here, am I the doctor or are you the doctor," the medic asked KJ who agreed to let the doctor have his way.

Nevertheless, the medic took the x-ray image of Kj's arm and discovered that indeed, one more rod needed to be removed.

"Don't imagine the madharau (contempt) that the third rod was removed with," the legislator quipped.
