Embakasi East MP Babu Owino took to his Twitter handle and Facebook page to mock Deputy President William Ruto’s allegations that four Cabinet Secretaries have been holding various meetings to plot his assassination.
“Funny how DP Ruto is seriously investing in "heaven" though he fears going there!,” Babu Owino mocked.
DP Ruto, while defending his generous donations to churches, has been quoting various bible verses to support his contributions. He has also advised Kenyans to invest in heaven and not on earth, stating that they should not focus on political ambitions only.
The DP even declared that he would focus on matters of the Christian religion as soon as he retires from active politics.
The tweet elicited mixed reactions from netizens. One Benson Manuko encouraged the DP not to be worried by making phone calls to the DCI, if truly he has invested in heaven. He should be covered by the blood of Jesus.
Robert Too asked Babu Owino to read the Bible well to realize that it encourages everyone to work their salvation with fear and trembling and that fear is part of the investment.
"The problem with you keyboard warriors is that you are attention seekers," Acc Collins Langat dressed down the Embakasi East MP.
Frank Mtetezi wondered how the DP trusted the DCI suddenly, yet he had been criticising the department over the highly publicised dam scandal investigation.
On Monday, three Cabinet Secretaries presented themselves to DCI over an alleged plot to assassinate Ruto.
ICT CS Joe Mucheru, his Health counterpart Sicily Kariuki, Trade & Industrialization CS Peter Munya, and Transport CS James Macharia appeared before the DCI over the claims.
