Doctors Vow to Disrupt Governor Waiguru's Wedding

The drama between Kirinyanga Governor Anne Waiguru and the striking doctors in her county got a new twist when the medics vowed to disrupt her wedding slated for July 13.

According to Radio Jambo, the doctors were angered by Waiguru’s stance on threatening to fire them if they didn’t get back to work instead of having a dialogue with them.

On July 13, Waiguru and her lover lawyer Kamotho Waiganjo are set to formalise their union in a wedding ceremony as per Kikuyu traditions.

The event will take place at Kiamugumo Primary School in Kirinyaga County. Kenyans.co.ke learned that all the invited guests are expected to confirm attendance by June 30.

It is, however, still not clear whether it will be an invite-only event.

In February this year, the eloquent governor got engaged to the lawyer who proposed to her at the lavish Lord Erroll Hotel in Runda, Nairobi.

Waiguru and Waiganjo are both divorced from their previous marriages.

On June 6, the striking health workers stormed Waiguru’s offices demanding dialogue.

The health workers were, however, repulsed by police officers who were forced to lock the entrance to prevent the agitated group from forcing its way into the offices.

The health workers went on strike in May citing unhygienic and unfavorable working conditions but Waiguru claimed that the medics were behind the unsanitary environment.
