Inside Sonko's Lavish AFCON Watch Party

Nairobi governor, Mike Mbuvi Sonko on Tuesday evening joined the millions of Kenyans who are following on the Africa Cup of Nations matches (AFCON) in Cairo, Eqypt.

The match was between Cameroon Vs Guinea-Bissau and was airing on the National broadcaster, KBC at 8 pm which the governor had tuned in to.

In a video seen by Kenyans.co.ke, the governor enjoys the match alongside his friends in a lavish looking room, that has the warmth of a bonfire, flashy lights, huge screens, drinks and a luxurious couch.

"Watching Cameroon Vs Guinea-Bissau. Haki game ya Kenya iko juu Sana sijui why Algeria beat us. Juu mi sina swara we shall win all our remaining matches in Cairo. ( I don't know why Algeria beat us, we shall win our remaining matches in Cairo)" Sonko captioned the video.

The match ended in a 2-0 win with Cameroon taking the crown. The five-time winners began slowly but grew into the game as the first half progressed.

On Sunday, Deputy President William Ruto enjoyed the match of Kenya's national football team Harambee Stars, which played its first match against Algeria on Sunday night, in the campaign to clinch the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations trophy (AFCON).

The match which was aired at 11 pm kept the DP past midnight as he followed the game from Camp Toyoyo, Makadara, in Nairobi County where a watch party had been organised.

He was accompanied by Dagoretti South MP John Kiarie, Makadara MP George Aladwa as well as NACADA Director Vincent Mwasia, who is popularly known as Chipukeezy
