Driver Found Dead in Truck With Running Engine

The body of a truck driver was discovered in the sleeping compartment of the trailer whose engine was running along the Nairobi-Mombasa highway at Emali.

The body was found tied with ropes by police officers who went to the scene after residents grew suspicious and reported the incident as Capital News reports.

Confirming the incident, Nzaui sub-county police commander Josiah Dullo disclosed that the lorry had been parked beside the road along the highway while its engine was running.

“When our officers were alerted they went to the scene and found a body of a man tied with ropes and covered placed inside the trailer,” the sub-county commander highlighted.

The body was taken to Kilome Nursing Home Mortuary and the truck towed to Emali police station.

Police officers are probing the matter.

In yet another similar incident that happened in 2018, a businessman was found dead in his car near Matuu town, Embu County on a feeder road.

The body had been laid out on the backseat, with the hands tied to the driver’s seat using a bandage.

“He was a very good man, very jovial, very outgoing,” his landlord noted.
