What CSs in Ruto's Assassination Plot Discussed in Their Latest Meeting

Cabinet Secretaries caught up in Deputy President William Ruto's assassination plot on Tuesday held another meeting at an undisclosed location.

Confirming the meeting, Industry CS Peter Munya told Daily Nation that the meeting was successful even though he was in China on official duties.

The attendees discussed ways in which they could track implementation and accelerating of national projects including water, roads and electricity.

“The meeting was successful. Our aim is usually trying to ensure services are delivered to the population.

“We have a list of issues picked locally which we are addressing including water, roads and electricity. What we do is tracking implementation and accelerating,” CS Munya stated.

The embattled CS, however, refuted that the meeting was held at La Mada Hotel again explaining that they had many other areas they could meet.

Munya also divulged that the Cabinet was still strong and that all CSs operate under committees, therefore, a scandal like that could not tear them down.

“We are ministers and if the president tells you go and do something it’s you to decide how to do it.

“The government has been functioning well because of structures established by the president," he added.

On Monday, four Cabinet Secretaries were summoned by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations for allegedly holding secret meetings to plot against DP Ruto.

The four included ICT CS Joe Mucheru, his Health counterpart Sicily Kariuki and Trade & Industrialization CS Peter Munya and Transport CS James Macharia.
