DCI Busts Ngei Ward MCA  in Heroin Trafficking Ring

Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) detectives on Friday evening arrested Ngei Ward Member of County Assembly(MCA) for the offence of trafficking narcotics.

According to the DCI, Redson Otieno Onyango, was arrested following the confiscation of a consignment containing heroin at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) on April 19, 2019.

"Redson Otieno Onyango, the Member of County Assembly (MCA) for Ngei Ward was today evening arrested by Detectives following the confiscation of a consignment containing #Heroin at JKIA on 19th April ‘19. He’ll be charged with the offence of Trafficking in Narcotics," the DCI tweeted.



In yet another incident at JKIA, DCI detectives arrested Lamu West Member of Parliament (MP) Stanley Muiruri Muthama on Thursday night.

According to the DCI, Muiruri was arrested for engaging in fraud.



“He will be charged in an Eldoret court with a tax-related offence,” the DCI tweeted on Friday.



On the same night, the detectives also arrested two police officers in connection with a series of robberies. 



The two officers, constable Collins Wanjala and former AP officer Paul Kea were nabbed by DCI detectives based at the Nairobi Central Police Station.



Police recovered handcuffs and teargas canisters from the suspects.



"Police Constable Collins Wanjala was yesterday evening arrested by DCI detectives based in Central (Nairobi) in connection with various reported robberies. His accomplice ex- AP Paul Kea Origi was also nabbed while driving. Handcuffs and Tear gas canisters recovered,” the DCI tweeted.
