Italian Football Giants to Help Find Missing Kenyan Children

Italian Football club AS Roma has partnered with a Kenyan charity firm in a bid to help find several missing Kenyan children.

The partnership is the first of its kind between the Serie A club and an African charity firm.

According to AS Roma’s tweet, the missing children from Kenya will feature in the club's future video announcement.

With each player signing announcement the club makes this summer, a video will be released that will feature the faces and details of a number of children who are currently missing – with the goal of generating publicity that could result in someone, somewhere, offering valuable information about the whereabouts of the missing child.

In May, placards raised by Gor Mahia and AFC Leopards players showing the faces of 22 missing children before the start of their derby on Sunday evening in Kasarani led to the finding of two of them.

The two children; Prudence and Chantel Gift had been missing for three weeks.

The campaign for finding the missing children was organized by the Kenya Premier League (KPL) in collaboration with the two teams and Missing Child Kenya.

There have been several reported cases in the nation in the past few months regarding missing children.

Sleuths from the DCI recently uncovered illegal adoption schemes being run by some of the children's homes in the country. This led to the government banning adoption of Kenyan children by foreigners.

The post elicited exciting reactions from Kenyans, with most praising the club for their classy act.

“Thank you AS Roma for being a club that listens to fans and cares about their well being,” Mswahili Bandia tweeted.
