Deputy Governor's Bodyguards Arrested Over Man's Brutal Murder

Administration Police officers attached to the residence of Homa Bay Deputy Governor, Hamilton Orata, were arrested on Tuesday, over the brutal murder of Abdinasir Abdulahi, that happened in April 2018.

The officers, Lawi Mutali and Fredrick Makau, together with the driver, are said to have used kicks and blows that left Abdulahi severely injured.

The offense is claimed to have taken place in Ndhiwa Town, where the trio had gone for a drink at a bar, Citizen Digital reported.

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations commander based in the county, Daniel Wachira, stated that the deceased succumbed to injuries while undergoing treatment.

“The three are directly involved in the murder of Abdulahi who succumbed to injuries while undergoing treatment at Ndhiwa Sub-county Hospital after the incident,” Wachira noted.

He further noted that the investigations were complete and files submitted to the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP).

It is at this point that the DPP requested the arrest of the three suspects, who are to be charged with murder.

The three are being detained at the Homa Bay Police Station.

Two days ago, a similar incident was witnessed in the same county, as two men working with the National Youth Service (NYS) were charged with the murder of two casual workers at Suba South.

The court heard that the two had allegedly used crude weapons in the act.
