Moses Kuria defends His Controversial 'gucci' Remark

Gatundu South Member of Parliament, Moses Kuria, found himself against the ropes on Wednesday, following remarks he made during his tour of Gilgil, Nakuru County.

Speaking to the crowd that had gathered during his team Wanjiku's rally, the vocal legislator vented his frustration over the constant media coverage given to Deputy President William Ruto and ODM leader Raila Odinga's tiff.

"Oh jana Ruto alisema hivi, leo Raila anajibu, kesho Ruto anasema," loosely translating to, it's always about Ruto did this, then Raila did that, then Ruto responded.

However, it was Kuria's statement soon after, as well as his defence of the same that left netizens in stitches.

"Kari inyui mwi Kenya ino ngui ichi (are you the only ones in Kenya you dogs)," he insulted.

Kuria was quick to defend himself after being accused of spewing insults, by maintaining that his accent may have led some to misinterpret his words.

"Over the weekend I spoke in Gilgil and said there are leaders who are wearing Gucci sunglasses and therefore can not see Wanjiku's problems as they campaign for 2022. Some deviant elements are twisting that to say I referred to some leaders as Ngui Ichi (dogs)," the Gatundu South MP tweeted.

This left hundreds of netizens in stitches, as it came out a few hours after he trolled DP Ruto over a day-long meeting.

"Gucci for 'Ngui ici', that's comedy on another level," Mungai Shuqs posted on Twitter.

Some netizens were quick to acknowledge Kuria's quick-witted humour.

"I swear even the devil wouldn’t burn you as he would be intrigued by your wisdom!" a Twitter user posted.
