How Gov Anne Waiguru Met Her Soulmate at Unusual Place

Wedding bells for Kirinyaga Governor, Anne Waiguru, and her lover, Kamotho Waiganjo, have been ringing for a while now and today (Saturday) is when they finally solemnise their union.

Despite their highly publicised wedding being on everyone's lips, very few people know how the no non-sense governor met her lawyer soul mate.

Ten years ago, while on a work trip in Mombasa, the two lovebirds were attending a constitutional conference and were on a ferry in Likoni when they noticed each other.

Reports indicated that Waiganjo was so smitten with the governor especially after learning that she was a girl just like others.

"Waiguru was just a girl like others and did not waste time asking for contacts," Waiganjo realised.

At the time, Kamotho was a team leader while Waiguru had been sent to advise them on public finance chapter.

Their meet-up had earlier been misconstrued by the public after claiming that their love brewed in the courtroom as the lawyer frequently represented Waiguru.

Waiganjo represented Waiguru severally including when former gubernatorial aspirant Martha Karua challenged her victory.

The two are set to wed at Kiamugumo Primary School in Kirinyaga county with an invited guests list estimated at 3,000.

“We have received financial support from family and friends and we thank them for that.

“We have invited between 2,000 and 3,000 people including our friends in leadership positions and the residents of the two counties of Murang’a and Kirinyaga. We cannot say at this point who will come or not, but those who will come will be welcomed,” Daily Nation quoted Waiganjo.

The couple also remained mum on their honeymoon plans with the lawyer curtly stating, "“Tell Kenyans to be patient. They will see us gladly serving them come Monday.”

The eloquent governor got engaged to her lover who proposed to her a few weeks before that at the lavish Lord Erroll Hotel in Runda, Nairobi.
