Why Uhuru Was Afraid of Attending Waiguru's Wedding

President Uhuru Kenyatta was not too sure that he would attend Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru's wedding.

A report by The Standard indicated that the president was anxious when he received an invite to the governor's wedding with lawyer Kamotho Waiganjo.

Uhuru was uneasy because he wasn't too sure what to expect in a ceremony where mature people were tying the knot.

However, when Uhuru attended the function on Saturday, he told the audience that he was swept off his feet.

“I am impressed by the traditional wedding. We have learnt a lot of things about our tradition,” he stated.

Uhuru vowed to work with governors to ensure that counties cultural sites were well-maintained.

He joined other guests including ODM Party Leader Raila Odinga, Kirinyaga Deputy Governor Peter Ndambiri in dancing.

Other notable figures who were present are; Sports CS  Amina Mohamed, Murang'a Woman Rep Sabina Chege, University of Nairobi Students Association (UNSA) Chairperson Anne Mwangi Mvurya among others.

The wedding, which was held at Kiamugumo High School on Saturday, July 13, had over 2000 people in attendance.
