Sonko Tears Duale Apart in Scathing Rant

Nairobi Governor, Mike Sonko, on Sunday, angrily attacked National Assembly Majority Leader, Aden Duale, over funds supposed to be allocated to counties.

The governor was speaking at Alladina Grounds in Jomvu, Mombasa County, where he led Team Wanjiku in a rally, alongside Gatundu South MP, Moses Kuria.

"I want to tell Aden Duale that hii pesa ya devolution si pesa ya mama yako (devolution funds do not belong to your mother).

Si pesa ya ngamia zako uko Garissa (The devolution funds do not belong to your camels in Garissa)," Sonko ranted amid cheers from the audience.

The governor further accused Duale of spearheading the salary increment plot by MPs, while urging him to release devolution funds.

Duale, you are my friend. However, you are fighting for salary increment yet Garissa residents are suffering. They do not have water, the roads are poor too. If you continue with such an inhuman soul, in 2022 you will herd your camels without wearing an underwear!

"Instead of increasing your salary, release those funds to assist us in implementing devolution. We are even calling upon President Uhuru Kenyatta to resolve that issue," Sonko protested.

Sonko was responding to Duale’s earlier allegations that governors squander money allocated to their counties by the national government.

"Duale should read the constitution and understand it well. He should release the funds for allocation immediately, so that the youth fight against poverty,” Sonko explained.

Governors vowed to join Senators in a protest march to Parliament on Monday where they will demand to know why the MPs are opposed to the release of funds to counties.
