Zari Hassan Comes Clean on Reports of Her Love for Sonko

Businesswoman Zari Hassan, on Wednesday, addressed claims that she was in love with Nairobi Governor, Mike Sonko.

Taking to her social media, the public figure dismissed the allegations clarifying that she did not know him.

"This nonsense from this man should stop. No, I have no crush on you, I don't know you, never met you or anything. Please let me be. You are not my type, governor," Hassan wrote on Instagram.

Her remarks came after local publications reported that she had revealed her love for the Nairobi County boss, in a candid radio interview in South Africa.

“I want to reveal my love for the handsome Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko. He is the man I have secretly admired for a long time," the publications reported this as Zari's words.

The reports indicated that her fondness for the governor came about over his generous actions that were similar to her late husband, Ivan Semwanga.

“If you see Mike, please pass a word to him and tell him someone cares about him. I love this man because despite being powerful, he shares traits with my late beloved husband Ivan, who loved to help the poor,” she was allegedly quoted by various reports.

On his part, Governor Sonko stated that the rumours of his relationships with famous figures were spreading on the daily.

"Haki ya Mungu! wanasiasa tuko na shida, mara Rev. Natasha, mara Zari (I swear politicians have a problem. If it's not Reverend Natasha, it is Zari Hassan)," he conveyed over the weekend.

On Friday night, the outspoken Nairobi preacher, Reverend Lucy Natasha, refuted allegations that she was dating Sonko.

The overseer was speaking to K24 anchor, Betty Kyallo, where she stated, “He is someone I have prayed with many times on various issues. I have never dated Governor Mike Sonko."
