BBC Business Editor, Larry Madowo, on Thursday, shared a video clip in which his friends in Rwanda forced him to celebrate his birthday for a second time this year.
On July 14, the respected anchor showcased his cooking skills during another celebration in which he prepared food in a voluminous sufuria inside what seemed to be a rural homestead.
In the latest incident, his friends prepared him a cake and presented a candle to him while singing and drumming kitchen utensils, most notably frying pans.
They approached him jubilantly singing a 'Happy Birthday' song and dancing in the 1-minute video.
"This is the most extra birthday performance I’ve ever had. My silly friends in Kigali insisted on this even though my birthday was on Sunday," Madowo captioned the video.
In the earlier birthday celebration, the former NTV anchor cooked what looked like ugali while donning black sunglasses.
Women who seemed to have initially been involved in the cooking, stood by and watched Larry with admiration as he displayed his culinary skills.
"I’m grateful for the blessing of another birthday. Thanks for the many kind wishes. I’m ready for what else life is cooking," stated Madowo at the time.
The anchor is known for exciting crowds especially after engaging in unusual musings.
In May, he left tongues wagging when he partook a meal of rats by the roadside while exploring cultures in the country of Malawi.
The mice were presented on wooden skewers, a replica of the familiar beef delicacy mshikaki.
Admitting it was his first time to try out the meal, Madowo noted, "I ate a mouse for the first time and it was, well, amazing!"
