Raila Vows to Fight for Ken Okoth's Will

Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga has vowed to fight tooth and nail to ensure that the late Kibra MP Ken Okoth's will is honoured.

Speaking on Thursday, the AU envoy assured Ken Okoth's family that he would work with them to see to it that his burial wishes are respected.

He further hoped that the warring parts of the late lawmaker's family would agree on his final send-off.

"Nina hakika ya kwamba tutaweza kumpeleka Ken alale vizuri vile yeye mwenyewe alikua akitaka (I have faith that we will be able to move Ken's remains and give him send-off as he had wished)," The Star quoted Raila.

He further divulged that Okoth's family will work as a team including those at home.

The former premier went own to add that the fallen leader had been a great man who had endlessly served his constituents even when he was in pain.

This comes just hours after Nominated Nairobi MCA, Anne Thumbi, obtained a court order barring Okoth's mother, Angelina Okoth, and his wife, Monica Okoth, from proceeding with their burial plans.

She made the application on behalf of her son, who is a minor, accusing the two respondents of excluding her from funeral arrangements.

“The mother and the wife (of the deceased) have deliberately and unfortunately opted to exclude me from the funeral and burial arrangements of Okoth,” claimed Ms Thumbi.

Thumbi is expected to serve the respondents before the hearing which is set for August 9, 2019.
