CS Kiunjuri’s Vital Advice to DP Ruto on 2022 Elections

On Sunday, Agriculture Cabinet Secretary, Mwangi Kiunjuri, issued vital advice to Deputy President William Ruto on how to approach and withstand political storms ahead of 2022 elections.

The CS spoke during a fundraiser at Nanyuki Stadium, where Laikipia Woman Representative, Catherine Waruguru, had invited the DP.

“To the DP, you are a good person because you pray and that's what the church needs. Uhuru is the president and you are his deputy. In that car, you are the turn boy. Keep on your work and we hope to alight at one point," Kiunjuri praised Ruto.

Muhimu ni kuamini na kujiamini na sisi wenyewe kujiamini. Ile ingine (2022) ni marathon. Unavuta pumzi tunaendelea mbele, unakimbia ukijua ni 21 ama 42 kilometres (The most important thing is to believe in ourselves. On 2022 elections, all you have to do is breathe gentle and run the marathon),” Kiunjuri encouraged.

Ruto cautioned MPs against endorsing National Assembly Leader of Minority, John Mbadi’s, proposal to cap church donations to Ksh100,000.

In the legislative proposal, the Suba South MP seeks to have all public officers who donate over Ksh100,000 in any fundraiser to should notify Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) on the source of their findings.

Ruto warned the lawmakers of God’s wrath, should they approve the proposal.

"I want to refer you MPs to the book of Deuteronomy 8:11 which says: "Be careful that you do not forget the Lord your God, failing to observe his commands, his laws and his decrees that I am giving you this day," Ruto stated.

During the fundraiser, the DP contributed Ksh2 million and another Ksh1 million from President Uhuru Kenyatta.
