Gov Sonko Goes After Popular Blogger

Nairobi Governor, Mike Sonko, announced that he would file a criminal libel complaint against the administrators of popular facebook page, buyers beware.

He identified the Mildred Atty Owiso and Jackson Njeru as the individuals behind the page, adding that he had enough evidence to prove that they were running an extortion racket.

"My investigations have revealed that Mildred Atty Owiso and her fellow Admin of buyers beware one Jackson Njeru are known extortionists. Already, there was complaint pending in Kilimani Police Station by a lady called Kadioli Akivanga who she defamed after a failed blackmail and extortion attempt," Sonko divulged.

This came after Miss Atty was arrested, on Monday, over human trafficking allegations, alongside her husband, Joram Odhiambi Liech.

Sonko's name had been dragged into the whole saga, with the free Atty hashtag trending for the better part of Monday alleging that she was the victim.

However, the Nairobi governor has since moved to distance himself from what he termed as paid bloggers going after his reputation in a bid to exrtort him.

"I sensed something was amiss when Mildred's fellow admin Jackson Njeru called me immediately their article against me was posted to ask that get Mildred some little money in order for the story to die down," Sonko stated.

The vocal governor went on to reveal that the facebook page admin's brother, Steve Njeru also called him up, asking for money so as to pull down the post.

"I sensed this was an extortion ring na ndio nikamua kuwanika na kupelekana nao kama cartels waku expoziwa, loosely translating to, I sensed this was an extortion ring which is why I have decided to expose them and their fraudulent ways," he asserted.

Sonko went on to reveal that numerous passports belonging to different people had been discovered at Ms Atty's house following the arrrest over human trafficking, adding that the couple were held at the Buru Buru Police Station.
