Lonyangapuo Brings the House Down on Churchill Show

West Pokot Governor, Professor John Krop Lonyangapuo, left his county in stitches, following his appearance on the Churchill show, on Sunday.

His enthusiasm to serve his people and his seemingly effortless sense of humour made him a darling to many and certainly didn't disappoint when called to the stage by Daniel 'Churchill' Ndambuki.

The county head took time to disclose several hidden gems within his county, such as the fact that the biggest and blackest species of elephant on earth can only be found in West Pokot.

When questioned regarding his fellow governors who are also professors, Lonyangapuo jokingly stated that despite their doctorates, his colleagues still came to him, whenever they came up against any mathematical challenges, causing a huge rapture of laughter from the crowd.

"I add maths for them. So, when they have a problem with their budget, they come here," the governor remarked.

The professor also got the chance to share the beautiful story of how he met his wife, Dr. Mary Lonyangapuo.

Governor Lonyangapuo was apparently posted to serve as a teacher at Kaptabuk Secondary School, which was against his personal wishes because he felt that he needed to be teaching at a top national school going by his credentials.

However, as fate would have it, he met his future wife at the very post he was totally against.

West Pokot County's first lady was quick to add that the one thing about him that stole her heart was the fact that he loved and feared God.

A local musician, Kapkoma, who had converted Lonyangapuo's famous 'kijana fupi nono round', was also given a chance to speak to the governor, who jokingly demanded that she should pay him some royalty fee.

Kapkoma gave him a fifty shilling note, leaving everyone in attendance struggling to catch their breath, following the hearty laughter.
