Raila Ravishes Wife With Affectionate Message on Her Birthday

ODM Party leader, Raila Odinga, inked a heartwarming message to his wife, Ida Odinga, during her birthday.

In a post sent out on his official twitter page on Saturday night, the former Prime Minister praised Ida's strength and spirit.

"Thank you for being a pillar of strength and guidance for us as a family all throughout the years. May God bless you on your special day. Happy Birthday, Mama Ida Odinga," he posted.

Netizens joined Raila in wishing his wife a happy birthday, going on to heap praises on her.

"Happy birthday Mama, we respect your tireless efforts I'm making Kenya a better place for everyone," Ngaruiya Daniel tweeted.

On a lighter note, the fact that the opposition leader had shared his birthday wishes with just an hour or so till midnight wasn't lost on Kenyans, who quickly responded to his post with some hilarious remarks.

"Amekumbuka after census. During time ya kupeana details, loosely translating to, he remembered that it was her birthday when the census officials were at their house asking for personal details," Nashon Wigina posted.

However, theirs is a love that was brewed in the early '70s, when the young Ida was still pursuing a Bachelor of Education degree at the Univeristy of Nairobi.

She once confessed to having vowed to never date or marry a lawyer or politician, after James Orengo and the late Rok Ajulu led a strike, forcing her to stay in school for an extra year.

However, once she met Raila, she stated that she just knew that he was the one for her.

“That is why when I met Raila and he told me he was an engineer, I knew he was the man destined for me,” she confessed during a past interview.
