Ekuru Aukot Exposes Waiguru's Blatant Lies [VIDEO]

Former presidential aspirant, Ekuru Aukot, on Thursday, hit out at Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru for blatantly lying through her teeth over his Punguza Mzigo campaign.

The governor had posted that Nyeri County Assembly MCAs had turned down the bill setting precedent for their colleagues from other counties to follow suit. She argued that the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) was a better alternative.

The lawyer, however, never hesitated in pointing out anomalies in the governor's statement arguing that all Nyeri lawmakers did were asking the Punguza Mzigo team about the nitty-gritty of their campaign.

He further clarified that the bill was not tabled at the county assembly and that its debate was scheduled for October.

"I just want to tell Anne Waiguru, the governor of Kirinyaga, that I know the ghosts and spirits of NYS one are awakening, which is why you are scared and putting propaganda out there on social media that the bill has been rejected.

"It has not been and I know you are saying this because this bill is proposing to strengthen the integrity of people in the public service. I want to tell you to wait and let the MCAs debate it," stated Aukot.

His sentiments were echoed by Nyeri county speaker, Kaguchia John, who, while speaking to Kenyans.co.ke, expressed confusion on why Waiguru would make such claims touching on a county that is not under her control.

He added that he had given the correct information only to see a contradictory statement emerge a few hours later.

"No, it was not rejected. I was surprised because she updated something that was not factual. The truth of the matter was that we had a conversation where we were asking questions to get answers from the proposers of the bill.

"She most likely doesn't believe in MCAs, She doesn't believe in due process. MCAs are capable of making their own decisions and they do not need to be interfered with as she did because that was utter interference," Kaguchia told this writer.

He further revealed that he would not take an action against Daily Nation newspaper over a headline insinuating the county assembly had rejected the bill because they corrected it.
