Kibaki's Ksh 400M Mansion That His Wife Never Lived in [PHOTOS]

At the tail end of former President Mwai Kibaki's reign at the top office, the government offered to gift him with a Ksh400 million mansion but the family seemingly did not like it much.

Standing in Mweiga, Nyeri County, is the mansion that, according to reports, Kibaki's wife, Lucy Kibaki, never settled in while the former head of state only started visiting it regularly in the recent years.

Quoting a number of workers and security personnel, some of who were provided by the state, the news outlets disclosed that Ms Kibaki visited it during construction but she never really moved in after construction was completed.

Only her children visited the homestead once in a while.

Located along Nyeri-Nyahururu road, the mansion, which is also referred to as a mini-statehouse, spots a helipad to receive the former president and his guests.

From outside, the home also possesses dark-grey gates manned by General Service Unit (GSU) officers and has security lights at the entrance.

From the photos seen by Kenyans.co.ke, the house is a two-storey building painted in yellow and white colours.

The homestead also contains a well-manicured lawn and is surrounded by an electric fence that separates it from Sasini Estate in the neighbourhood.

Inside the compound is a swimming pool, jacuzzi and other modern facilities and the palatial home occupies an estimated 100 acres of land.

The parcel is part of 1,000-acre land belonging to Sasini Mweiga Estate.
