Reason Uhuru Appeared Drunk in Viral Video

A video of President Uhuru Kenyatta has gone viral after a cheeky Kenyan edited the clip to make the head of state appear drunk while making his remarks.

In the clip, Uhuru was speaking to the Kenya National Motocross Team at State House, on August 23, 2019.

The clip was manipulated to slow down the president's speech into a slur, the stereotypical sign of being drunk that oftentimes is used by doctors and the police as an indicator of a very drunk person.

The original video was posted by Daily Nation on YouTube, from where someone could have delayed the playback speed.

“Just as much as we are developing our football stadia, just as much as we are developing our athletics stadia, just as much as we are going to do basketball and netball, we will also do an area for motocross and we will also develop an area for all sports,” Uhuru assured.

President Kenyatta also flagged off the team that participated in this year’s Motocross of African Nations Continental Championship in Harare, Zimbabwe.

The team performed flawless stunts for the president which left him gleaming as he showered them with praise.

The over 25 riders sped their bikes, some doing wheelies while others flew into the air in daring antics.

Rolf Kihara, who is the captain of the team that is heading to Zimbabwe, promised to make the country proud at the continental event.

President Uhuru was accompanied by Sports CS Amina Mohamed and Head of Public Service Joseph Kinyua.
