Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Party Leader Raila Odinga, on Wednesday, met with ODM aspirants ahead of the Kibra by-election.
During the meeting, Raila held a discussion with candidates ahead of the party nomination exercise scheduled for Saturday 7th September.
The aspirants their party made two promises to Raila with hopes of clinching the party ticket and facing off against footballer McDonald Mariga, who was confirmed to be the Jubilee party candidate.
The hopefuls assured the party leader that they would adhere to the rules of the nomination set by the party.
They also promised to maintain decorum and ensure the exercise is peaceful.
The party's nomination exercise for the Kibra parliamentary seat was postponed over lack of provision of Security by the National Police Service because of the national census exercise.
The aspirants who will seek the party ticket are; Awino Christone Odhiambo, Orero Peter Ochieng’, Sine Tony Ogola Sira, Ojijo Reuben William Ayako, Oguwa Stephen Okello, Okoth Bernard Otieno, Obayi Obaricks Eric Ochieng’, Owino Brian Shem, Millar John Otieno, Musungu Benson and Owade Lumumba Patrick.
Mariga bagged the Jubilee ticket after edging out 16 other candidates and will no with an eye on the Kibra by-election set for November 7, 2019.
This was after the Jubilee Party's National Elections Board (NEB) interviewed him and scored 500 points out of the maximum 600, boasting a clean A in the interviews.
