Sharon Otieno's Mother Sends Message to Killers a Year Later

Today marks exactly one year since Rongo University Student, Sharon Otieno, was brutally murdered.

Family and friends marked the first anniversary on Wednesday at her parent's home in Magare, Homa bay.

Her mother, Melida Auma, told Ms Otieno's killers that she had forgiven them but added that the family was demanding justice.

“The event today was simply to call for justice for Sharon,” she affirmed.

Sharon's mother also lamented that politicians, who had pledged to help the family after they lost their 26-year-old daughter, had not done so.

Ms Auma stated that some of the politicians had offered to pay school fees for Sharon's siblings but had not fulfilled their promises.

Sharon, who was seven months pregnant at the time of her death, was brutally murdered on September 4, 2018.

Migori Governor Okoth Obado and his two aides, Casper Obiero and Michael Oyamo, have since been charged for her murder.
