Video footage that emerged online on Thursday, September 5, 2019, sparked outrage from netizens after someone accused him of assault.
Witnesses captured by the video that was shared on Twitter stated that the officer had assaulted the individual who sent it alongside seven others.
Among those he was accused of assaulting were people who tried to calm him down when he got agitated.
Netizens were not left behind in condemning the officer while at the same time calling for the National Police Service to take action against him.
"This is unacceptable... Assume he has a gun and was drunk....he would do the American script of what they call "mass shooting" Someone must take responsibility here," tweeted Sam Macoha.
Other internet users claimed that there must be deeper issues underlying the attack, they stated that the officer might be suffering from depression or any other mental issue.
"Our cops are really stressed. Imagine being on-call 24 hrs a day to protect citizens who see them as 'enemy number one'. Let's cut the guy some slack. You never know what triggered the outburst. It's not his first time to take alcohol," noted Jaymore Kimathi.
More people reacted to the video and were calling the DCI and Inspector General of police to take a stern action against the officer in a bid to tame him and others who had similar behaviour.
Those who defended him were quickly reminded that the officer was a public official and there was a manner that he should carry his image in private and public.
Others advised him for the future to read the label of the alcohol bottle that reads 'drink responsibly' before overindulging.
