Machakos Governor, Alfred Mutua, launched an attack on his Nairobi counterpart Mike Sonko claiming that the effects of Sonko's oversights were spiralling into his county.
Mutua's utterances were made at a function in Mbiumi market in Mwala Sub-County, Machakos on Friday, September 6, in a video seen by Kenyans.co.ke.
"The dirt that you see polluting our rivers and killing our fish comes from Nairobi City. I want to tell the Nairobi leadership, especially my brother Mike Sonko. Emulate what I did here in Machakos.
"I want you to know that we shall not accept the people of Nairobi to kill and pollute our people of Machakos and Kitui. We condemn and reject that idea," Mutua lashed out.
The Maendeleo Chap Chap leader further warned Sonko that he would gang up with his Makueni and Kitui counterparts and raid Sonko's bakyard to clean up the rot in his county.
"If you will be unable to do your work, I together with Kibwana (Makueni) and Ngilu (Kitui) will raid Nairobi and close those companies that are killing our Machakos residents," Mutua declared as the crowd cheered in support.
"When will we stop dying?" he further inquired angrily adding another chapter in a row that has been brewing between the two governors for the last few months.
In June, Sonko stormed Machakos town twice to tell off Machakos Governor, Alfred Mutua, who accused him of neglecting the national heroes' statues in Nairobi.
In his first raid, he opened his address by referring to Mutua as a "fool and retard" for making a mountain out of a molehill instead of helping his residents of limited means.
In his second raid he gifted the town's residents some money and food donations in an event.
