Raila Sends Warning to Uhuru's Party Over Kibra By-election

The Orange Democratic Party, on Tuesday, September 10, officially handed Kibra parliamentary aspirant, Bernard 'Imran' Okoth his certificate of nomination.

Speaking from the party's headquarters in Hurlingham, the party's leader, Raila Odinga, confirmed that the late Ken Okoth's brother would be ODM's flag bearer, adding that the party was ready to floor all its opponents because Kibra was their home turf which they were ready to defend to the last man.

"After the party nomination results were announced, all the aspirants who lost out all met and have decided to support the winner," Raila announced.

He went on to present Imran to the press and party members who had gathered for the event.

The opposition party declared Suna East MP Junet Mohamed as the head of campaigns, and the house minority whip made it clear that he was aiming his sights squarely on securing a victory.

"You have awoken a beast, we will show you all that Kibra is an ODM zone," he announced.

Various candidates who lost out to Imran, such Ochieng Obaye and Otieno Mila, were given the chance to address the people, and one by one, they all declared their full support for the party's candidate.

Mila stirred up the crowd when he fired shots at rival parties, which he claimed were in an unwinnable battle.

"Jubilee na hiyo wing ingine tunajua mwenye anawaleta and the person who has set you up is a corrupt person who has let us down in this nation," he stated.

Raila went on to announce that Imran and the entourage of ODM party members would deliver his certificate to the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) offices before heading to Kibra for a meet and greet session.
