Kenneth Okuthe, a nephew to Kisumu Governor Anyang' Nyongo has alleged that someone is after his life after the court ruled in his favor in a case pitting him against the governor, the Standard reported on Friday, September 13.
He alleged that his woes started after the judge made the ruling in his favor, demanding that the governor include him and his brother in the will over the contested Ksh200 million inheritance.
Talking to The Standard, he claimed that on July 25, there was an attempt to abduct him as he was on his way to make an appearance in court.
He recounted that before the incident, his lawyers used to pick him on his way to court and drop him thereafter, but on that day, they excused themselves and told him that he had to go to the court via public transport.
When he returned in the evening, he stated that a well-built man approached him while he was waiting for a matatu to his home in Kericho and engaged him in a conversation about travelling late.
He claimed that the man then suggested that they get a lift from a nearby blue car, but that before he could get into the car, a conductor who knew him told him that the car was suspicious before the car sped off.
He immediately after reported the matter to the police in Kericho under Ocurrence Book Number 07/26/7/019, after which he fired his lawyers.
This is not the first time Okuthe has made such allegations.
In December 2018, he disclosed that a stranger trailed him as he was following up on another family case in Mombasa.
“A stranger approached me at the hotel where I was staying in Mombasa and warned me to go slow on the cases against the Nyong’os,” he was quoted.
