MP's Ex-Husband Implicated in Billionaire's Murder

The gruesome murder of a 71-year-old Dutch billionaire, Tob Cohen, ended in tragedy after detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations found his body hidden in a water tank at his Kitisuru home in Nairobi.

On Friday, September 13, the Director of Criminal Investigations, George Kinoti, stated that the murder had been executed by more than two people.

"We have two suspects so far and we are going to arrest more. Anyone who is involved in the gruesome murder, we shall not leave a single one," Kinoti vowed.

The Standard now reports that one of the key suspects in the dreadful murder is a former husband to a sitting Member of Parliament.

It is alleged that a person close to Mr Cohen had approached the MP's former husband for a matter that needed to be dealt with urgency.

It is then that the lawmaker's husband took the matter on his own hands and looked for killers, who were tasked with the job of dealing with the matter.

The publication, which talked to investigators, noted that the assassins came from Nakuru while others from Nairobi. They had allegedly been paid Ksh 40,000 before they started working.

On Friday, September 13, the DCI boss revealed that Cowen's murderers, whom he described as heartless, took their time in executing the heinous act.

"He was bound, hands, legs and the neck, before he was murdered and then they hid him in an underground water tank," he emotionally explained.

Kinoti added that CCTV cameras were mounted in the house after the act was executed.
