Deputy President William Ruto on Friday, September 13, asked Kenyans in Mtwapa, Kilifi County to return the favour for supporting them.
The DP, on the second day of his five-day tour of the coast, spoke at a fundraiser for boda boda operators and women groups at Mtwapa.
“I am always ready to support you when you call upon me to do so. But you should also return the favour and support us,” The Standard quoted Ruto.
He was in the company of MPs Aisha Jumwa (Malindi), Paul Katana (Kaloleni), Badi Twalib (Jomvu), Ali Wario (Garsen), Khatib Mwashetani (Lunga Lunga), Athman Shariff (Lamu East) and Nominated legislator Christine Zawadi.
On Saturday, Ruto presided over the opening of Ksh108 million Lunga Lunga Technical and Vocational College, Kwale County, with a student capacity of 1,000.
He stated that its students will benefit from Ksh 40,000 loans and Ksh 30,000 bursaries.
On Sunday, he will be in Mombasa to launch a Ksh300 million sewerage system funded by the African Development Bank in Changamwe.
His five day-visit will end at Taita Tateva on Monday.
Ruto’s tour comes in the backdrop of President Uhuru Kenyatta’s week-long stay at the Coast.
