Chief Justice David Maraga on Saturday, September 21, attended a church function in Kisumu County where he revealed his musical side in the most adorable way.
The church’s choir made a presentation that impressed Maraga so much so that he had to join the team.
“I was blessed by the singing of Victory Church Choir in Kisumu. I could not resist joining them,” the CJ captioned the video he posted on his social media handles.
The song was about calling on God for help explaining that He is always available to listen to his followers.
Maraga’s has demonstrated a commitment to his church on several occasions in public and he claims that he attends church without fail.
He, however, had to explain why he missed mass on April 29, 2019.
On that particular day, he attended the funeral of the late Jonathan Moi, the firstborn son of retired President Daniel Moi.
In his defence, Justice Maraga posted on Twitter; “Condoling with the bereaved, even on a Sabbath, is in accordance with the teachings of the SDA Church and is in perfect harmony with the observance of the Sabbath.”
The CJ’s proclamation of his faith even features on his CV.
“I am a God-fearing person who believes in, and endeavours to do, justice to all irrespective of their status in society,” his CV reads.
He describes his career objective as “In obedience to God’s command and will, and guided by the constitution, to serve humanity, and Kenyans in particular, with dedication, honesty and integrity, striving at all times to uphold the rule of law and do justice to all.”
