A birthday symbolises another year where we get to forget the past; look forward to the future, for the best things are yet to come.
Some may decide to let the day pass by with a lowkey dinner whereas others will go all out with pomp and colour in their celebrations.
In what was a special surprise, on Saturday, September 21, NTV's Doreen Majala sought to make her mother feel special with a lavish dinner at a fancy restaurant.
During the special dinner, the restaurant's staff walked out with the birthday cake as they sang a happy tune for the anchor's mother.
The mother's reaction was priceless as she held her excitment clearly caught off guard by the gesture. All the while, Doreen kept the camera on her mother.
"A mother's smile is satisfactory. It was a beautiful evening. Happy Birthday, mum," Doreen stated.
Earlier in July, Doreen celebrated her birthday in a stylish ceremony in Nairobi.
The journalist opted for an intimate celebration with close friends at Dari Restaurant located in Karen.
"Happy Birthday to me! Lord, I am grateful. To more wisdom, happiness and success," she stated on her social media platforms.
