Kenyans Condemn Miguna Over Raila's Assassination Attempt Story

Controversial lawyer Miguna Miguna, on Sunday, September 22, found himself on the receiving end once more following an assassination attempt on former Prime Minister Raila Odinga published by The Standard newspaper.

The paper had run a story detailing events that happened at a stadium in Thika, in 1995, where Raila was to be eliminated by a scheme which was run by some senior police officers.

The story further indicated that the former premier was saved by his aides who pinned him down, a move which shielded him from the bullets. The paper even had a photo of that moment to prove their case.

The main antagonists at the time were Raila and Ford-Kenya Vice-Chairman Kijana Wamalwa and the chaos reportedly nearly turned into a blood bath.

Taking to his social media account, Miguna, however, disputed the facts presented by the paper claiming that the police were not involved in the commotion and that it included parties from either warring sides.

He added that Odinga was hiding behind a table to save himself from the goons and that no bullet was used at the time.

"The coward and people's con-man Raila Odinga was hiding under the table in Thika, afraid of Michael Kijana Wamalwa - not Kenya Police Service. He (Raila) was cowering under Okoth Otura. There was no bullet.

"Two groups of hooligans were fighting at the Thika Stadium. One group was with Raila and the other was with Wamalwa. Raila and his goons were overpowered and you can see how the coward is trying to hide under the table," posted Miguna.

Kenyans were, however, not impressed by his explanation and turned the tables on him arguing that he is the coward one and went to lengths where he acquired second citizenship during his exile years.

"Why did you go to exile in Tanzania, then to Zimbabwe, then to Canada and even went further to change your citizenship that is haunting you to date. What have you done to change the narrative? I thought you pilled off the mask of Raila. Ten years down the line you still here complaining," wondered Stephen Yala.
