A Jubilee Speaker on Saturday, September 28, survived a bizarre road accident.
Nyeri County Assembly John Kaguchia through his Facebook revealed that he was driving when his car unexpectedly began to swerve from one side of the road to the other.
While trying to regain control of his vehicle, the speaker noticed that the rear wheel was rolling away from the vehicle to a nearby field.
"My official car swerved from one side of the road to the other and while still trying to figure out what was happening I saw the rear wheel rolling over the maize fields at terrific speeds and I wondered how was that possible.
"True to it the rear wheel had come off, the cause of the serious destabilization of the car," he stated.
Luckily, he was able to bring the car to a stop without resulting in a serious accident.
"Under normal circumstances, this results to serious accidents both with the motor vehicle and the pedestrians on the path of the uncontrolled wheel.
"Thanks to God for protecting all of us and my crew Anthony Maina and Victor Muturi who handled the situation in an exceptionally professional way," he added.

According to the National Safety Council and other safety experts, there are steps a driver should take in the event of the a tire blowout or if a wheel detaches.
A driver should keep a firm grip on the steering wheel while at the same time not slamming on the brakes.
One should let the car slow down gradually and if possible pull to the side of the road once it has slowed to a safe speed.
At that time, the driver should put on the hazard lights and put reflectors on the road to alert other drivers as you await assistance.
